The Tsuki Nations
Water Tsuki
Situated in Kajitsu, the Water Tsuki are the smallest clan of the four groups. They speak their native Kajitsun, and Mainlander - despite not being part of the mainland. Their clan markings are two cool blue stripes, one on each cheekbone.
Governance is determined by Democratic vote, though multiple generations have served in a row thanks to dedicated teaching. The Sei Tsuki family are a prime example of this.
The land is heavy with rainforests and the towns are situated on either side of a mighty river, where their elemental demons reside. Their farming focuses on limited deforestation and raising native fruits and vegetables.

Their clan markings are green angle-brackets, pointing downwards on the cheek.
These Tsuki, strangely for their element, have excelled at fishing and whaling, as well as small scale farming. They understand that quality earth can battle against a severe climate with a short farming season. Their main exports are lumber and fur, which they trap and hunt with bows and spears. They make beautiful carved art from teeth, bones, and soapstone. Rulers are voted in by the "young folk" of the clan, as they will live with the consequences of their decisions.

Heir to the throne is Hiiro Hisai, followed by his sister Rubi Hisai, and then his nephew-by-marriage Takumi Akoda. Kusanagi is built on either side of the River Iteru. The Iteru is bordered by rich soil that is washed with nutrient rich silt once a year. The city itself is massive, surrounded by walls that decrease in height and grandeur as distance progresses. The city wall and main gate is the most impressive, is 20 meters (65.6 feet) tall at its highest. It is made of white and gold limestone, masterfully decorated with geometric patterns and massive, carved faces. |
Minami
Minami is positively huge, covering 2/3rds of Pangimya, from the southern-most point to the borders of Migiue, Amazai and the remaining land of Shakazu. Minami encompassed the past kingdom of Abda and stolen land from the Shakazu. It also owns the Prison Islands in the East Sea. Their languages are isiMingam, and Mainlander. Minami is unwilling to outlaw slavery.
The capital and seat of government is Kibo, a massive port city. Most land and inland water sources in Minami are privately owned and rent is cripplingly high. The walls of Kibo rival Kusanagi's in size, though they are made of rammed earth and granite.
Minami is Zodwa's homeland.

Jiritsu
Jiritsu is a feudal, island nation that is as cold as its snowy climate to its neighbours to the South; Tsugara, Saikaido, and Futana. Each past ruler has rejected unification with these nations. It is studded with mountains, lakes and castles. The capital city is a fortress, also called Jiritsu. They speak Mainlander most commonly, but value the poetic, historic Proper (Tekisetsu) language very highly.
The nation guards its privacy fiercely and since the hostile takeover from a wayward son of the last ruler, Jiritsu keeps its doors closed to the outside world. The island has become a fortress all of its own.
Jiritsu is the birthplace and territory of Taisho.

Xhizheng and Yevrey
The Empire of Xhizheng and Yevrey cover a truly massive territory. Their combined population is the largest in the world. Over the centuries, the two kingdoms came to an agreement to "be united but different" in a multi-ethnic, multinational alliance. Their languages are Mainlander, Yuyan, and Yevreyska. In the center of the empire, more people are multi-lingual. The nation enjoys strong trade relations with Akali (South West), Daikoku (South), Breytpleystik (West), and Eon-eo (East).

Bičuvūn
The Bivkĕ speaking people live in the farthest North reaches of the Afaronmya super-continent. This bitterly cold and harsh environment has bred a hardy people staunched in tradition. They herd reindeer and hunt wild fish and game. Speaking Mainlander was stubbornly adopted in order to trade farmed goods. They are particularly fond of wolf-dogs, that are used for security and herding.
The country of Bičuvūn recognises the Law of Thirteen, which dictates many aspects of law. The most extreme example is the indentured servitude known as "The 13 Sons". The Honhisa family is indentured to the Yukinoue, owing six more generations of sons.
Shirono's heritage is West Bivkĕ, Chikuroshi is largely East Bivkĕ.

North Sea Islands
The North Sea Islands are a proud archipelago, speaking primarily
Cànan. It comprises of a large, central island, a smaller island to the West, and many much smaller islands in the North. The area is rich in resources and farmland.
The lush, green islands are ruled by a royal family, who all adopt the surname Rhìogail. No one else may use this surname. Recent years have seen an uneasy peace between Miñacasa and The North Sea Islands through intermarriage of their royal families and nobles. For centuries the two have been in competition for global trading and growing their wealth. Some of the brightest minds in the Islands are responsible for the translation and spread of the Mainlander language for global trade.

Eon-eo
The people of Eon-eo speak Won-eomin, and exist at the far East edge of Afaronmya. The nation has typically been poor and with low population density. Their main exports are intricate textiles and clay-based pottery that is developing popularity and bringing income to the nation. The country has become a more popular destination for artisans to visit and work due to low costs.
It is ruled by a Divine King, who heads state affairs, and a Divine Queen, who leads religious affairs. The seat of power is in the capital, Mongyeo. Land is owned by lords or the crown, and then worked by serfs and free peasants. Each district has a Mayor as its representative in government. Mayors are appointed by the crown.

Amazai
Amazai is a North Western country in Pangimya. Groups of indigenous peoples from across the continent and Miñacasa came together to build the ancient capital, Alsan. The people speak their native Zaiɣen, Mainlander, Minam, and some hybrid Zaiɣen-Caló.
It is estimated that around 25% of the nation are first or second generation migrants to Amazai. A majority of the population is employed in farming olives, citrus fruits, and wine grapes. Viticulture is a much celebrated art form, alongside music, dance, theater and architecture. The Amazai-style geometric and arabesque patterns native to the country have gained popularity in neighbouring countries.
The nation is governed by a semi-constitutional monarchy, and a parliament with an Upper and Lower House. There is no gender expectation for a monarch or member of parliament.
Amazai enjoys a good relationship with Migiue to their East.

Shakazu
Shakazu is the remaining land to the East of the "Minami takeover", and was routinely plundered by Migiue's ancient slave king. With the help of a more modern Migiue, the Shulu speaking people were able to continue to occupy their home territory and support their protector. While not entirely for selfish reasons, Migiue used this arrangement to flaunt their power to Minami and halt their invasion further North.
Approximately 1/3 of all Shulu are employed in agriculture, as their two largest exports are plant oils and sugar. They are able to mine some gold and copper from their land, as well as gemstones. They also harvest lumber and tree gum for a small but consistent market.
Shakazu is likely the country of origin of Imayou, late queen of Migiue.

Lafan Tamo
Lafan Tamo is historically a poor and unsafe land. Living largely by the flow of the trade caravans coming through, most Amano people work in the mining of minerals, growing cotton, and agriculture - mainly exporting their chickpeas and olives. Most farm to survive and only benefit from minimal profits. Livestock is limited, mostly fowl.
The nation has been pillaged for slaves many times over the last few hundred years, taking Amano people across Migiue and Minami. The people also frequently join caravans to seek out a better life in other nations. With an ineffective military and scattered governance, the people are vulnerable to many cruelties of life. Food aid from Breytpleytsik in the North and Migiue to the South-West has been helpful.
Over the last few generations, the country has experienced a population boom. This has lead to a nationwide freshwater crisis. There is concern that vital trade caravans will choose to travel by sea instead of land because of this.
